“Jigsmith are one of the foremost ceilidh bands in North Shropshire
using a range of traditional instruments, coupled with more modern instruments such as bass guitar, stomp board and electric violin they create a much larger and contemporary sound which, whilst essentially traditional English in content, transcends the generations and becomes an upbeat foot-stompin’ ceilidh dance sensation.”

“The six musicians of Jigsmith, from North Shropshire, play an assortment of instruments between them, including melodeons, whistles, harmonica, angloconcertina, flute, violin, guitars, percussion, bass and stomp box.
Many of the tunes on the CD took me back to when I first started playing in a ceilidh band some 35 years ago, others are more recent, and some are composed by band members Neil Moore and Rob Lewis – I particularly enjoyed Neil’s waltz ‘TJ’s’, composed for the birth of his grandson. this CD presents the band sounding upbeat and lively, much as I guess it would sound playing at a local hop.”
